Endocrine System
The Endocrine System is in charge if the of the process in our body that occurs slowly, such as cell growth. Faster processes such as breathing are controlled by the Nervous System. The foundations of the Endocrine System are the hormones are the hormones and glands. As the chemical messengers of the body, hormones transfer information and instruction from cell to another. Although many hormones circulate through the blood stream, each one only effects the cells that are genetically programmed to receive its messages.
The major glands that effect the endocrine system are hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroids, adrenals, pineal glands, and the reproductive glands.
